Ondami is built so you own your profile. We collect what we need to run a safe video dating service, and nothing to sell.
Who we are

What we collect
- Waitlist: email, the city and country you enter, your language, and an approximate location from your device time zone and internet connection.
- Account: name, age, profile details, preferences, and your 30-second intro video.
- Verification: a photo of your ID and a selfie video, processed by our verification partner to confirm you're a real adult. This involves biometric data and we ask for your explicit consent first. We keep the result and a one-way code that lets us enforce bans. ID images and selfie data are deleted after the check.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, date times and lengths, and settings. We don't record video dates.
- Messages: chats are end-to-end encrypted. We can't read them. We only see messages you choose to include in a report.
- Location: approximate location from your connection, and precise location only if you allow it, to show people near you.
- Payments: handled by Apple, Google, or our payment processor. We receive confirmation of your subscription, not your card number.

How we use it
- To run Ondami: matching, video dates, chat, and subscriptions.
- To keep members safe: verification, reports, moderation, and bans.
- To decide which cities to open next.
- To contact you about your account and, if you agree, product news.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell your data, share it for advertising, or show ads.
Legal bases
Where data protection laws like the GDPR apply, we rely on: the contract with you (running your account), your consent (verification biometrics, precise location, analytics cookies, marketing), our legitimate interests (safety and fraud prevention, improving Ondami), and legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Sensitive information
Your use of a dating service, and details like who you want to meet, may reveal sensitive information such as sexual orientation. We use it only to provide the service you ask for, and we protect it accordingly.
Who we share with
- Service providers that work for us under contract: hosting, verification, video infrastructure, email, and payments.
- Other members, who see your profile and intro as you set them.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone from serious harm.
- A buyer or successor, if Ondami is reorganized or sold, under this policy.
International transfers
We may process data outside your country. When we do, we use safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days.
- Waitlist data: until your city opens and you join, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Safety records: we keep the minimum needed to enforce bans and handle legal claims.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can access, correct, download, or delete your data, object to or restrict some uses, and complain to your data protection authority. Download and delete are built into the app. For anything else, email privacy@ondami.com. We reply within the time the law requires.
Security
We use encryption in transit, end-to-end encryption for chat, access controls, and minimal data retention. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Adults only
Ondami isn't for anyone under 18. If we learn we've collected data from a minor, we delete it.
